OT asset inventory template

A CSV inventory for process role, owner, network zone, installed revision, dependencies and backup responsibility.

Download the OT asset inventory template (CSV). Opens in spreadsheet applications; no email or signup required. Fields and an explicitly labeled example row are included. Replace the example before use.

Start with one line or system boundary. Record stable asset identity and process role before collecting technical details. The sample IP address is from a documentation range, not a production address or suggested network plan.

Collect with a source

Retain the source and verification date for each entry: approved drawings, maintenance records, a device label or an authorized observation. An old spreadsheet is useful evidence with an age, not confirmed current state. Mark uncertain fields rather than filling them with guesses.

Keep ownership practical

Name the role that owns configuration changes and recovery. Explain criticality through process consequences. Link to the controlled backup and its restore dependencies; do not put passwords, private keys or broker credentials in the inventory.

Review after change

Update the record after approved hardware, firmware, project or network changes. Use it to select a bounded recovery exercise and to review required communications with the system owner. This worksheet does not authorize active network scanning.
