PLC FAT & SAT checklist template

A CSV acceptance record linking requirements to preconditions, expected behavior, evidence, defects and retests.

Download the PLC FAT & SAT checklist template (CSV). Opens in spreadsheet applications; no email or signup required. Fields and an explicitly labeled example row are included. Replace the example before use.

Create a test row for each observable requirement. Use the stage field to distinguish factory simulation from site evidence. Replace the illustrative row with approved requirements and record the exact system revision under test.

Input, execution, output. The sensor feeds the input module; the CPU executes the program; the output module drives the beacon. Timing is schematic.

Write an executable test

State the precondition, approved action and expected result before execution. Record the actual observation and evidence reference afterward. Useful evidence can include a loop-check record, trend, screenshot or versioned report; use locations controlled by the project.

Keep failures and gaps visible

Use explicit statuses such as not tested, pass, fail and blocked. Preserve defects and retest results. Review affected requirements after a change. Safety validation and production fault injection need their own competent, approved procedures; this general worksheet does not provide them.

Handover check

Confirm that approved project files, configurations, dependencies and restore instructions are delivered. The acceptance record should identify who reviewed the result and which limitations remain.
