How Shopfloor handles sources, examples, dates, calculator assumptions and corrections.
Shopfloor is maintained by Yunus Emre Vurgun. It publishes industrial technology explainers and practical reference tools. The site is an independent learning resource; articles and calculators do not replace equipment documentation, approved site procedures or competent engineering review.
Sources and scope
Technical guides link to primary specifications, standards organizations, government guidance or manufacturer documentation where they support a specific claim. Vendor-neutral planning suggestions are identified as suggestions. Referenced specifications do not imply certification, affiliation or validation of a particular installation.
Examples and calculation methods
Worked numbers are illustrative unless explicitly described as measured evidence. Calculator pages show formulas, units, example inputs and important exclusions. Results depend on the entered boundary and assumptions. No universal plant benchmark, safety determination or investment approval is inferred from a calculation.
Tools validate supported input ranges and reject invalid values. Presentation rounding can differ from the unrounded value used in later arithmetic. The browser register decoder computes locally; server calculators use GET forms, so inputs appear in the URL and may be present in ordinary hosting logs. Use non-sensitive examples.
Dates and changes
Article dates identify publication dates. Sitemap modification dates follow content changes. A tool's reviewed date refers to its explanatory content and calculator review, not to approval for a specific process. We aim to preserve stable URLs and make material corrections in the source content.
Corrections
Report a suspected error through the maintainer's website. Include the Shopfloor page URL, input values, expected result, observed result and a primary reference when possible. Avoid sending confidential process data or credentials.
Funding and independence
The site links to ebooks sold by the maintainer. These promotions are labeled as books from the maintainer. Shopfloor does not present book promotion as independent technical validation. Reading, calculators and CSV worksheet downloads require no account or email address.
